K-12 Assessments

K 12 Assessments

ACTFL K-12 assessments were created to highlight the important relationship between classroom-based teaching and learning and real-world language proficiency. They have been developed and refined over the years in collaboration with language educators from across the country to provide an accurate measure of learners’ language ability with level- and age-appropriate content.

Performance and Proficiency Outcomes Benefit Learners and Educators

Results from the proficiency- and performance-based assessments provide evidence of learners’ emerging proficiency levels and can be used to demonstrate ability in a language to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy. World language educators and administrators can use assessment data to inform and improve instructional practices, 课程, and world language programs as a whole.

Administration of ACTFL K-12 Assessments

ACTFL assessments are administered through Language Testing International (LTI), the exclusive licensee of ACTFL assessments. ACTFL assessments are proctored and may be administered both within or outside of an educational setting. ACTFL and LTI  provide information and resources for those interested in Out of School Testing Options for the AAPPL, ALIRA, and ACTFL OPI & WPT for the Seal of Biliteracy.
